Wall Upholstery

The stunning images shown here are the work of creative Designer Jill Sharp Brinson and Photographer Simon Upton from House Beautiful magazine Dec-Jan 2010.  Crewel fabric has been incorporated into this space as wall upholstery.  If you look closely you will see that there is also a coordinating solid fabric piping around the edges, which nicely completes the design.  The overall feel of the room is warm and inviting.

I’ll admit it – I LOVE embroidered fabrics.  It doesn’t matter to me if the embroidery is done on silk, velvet, cotton or jute – I love them all!

My new private label line – Fleur de Lys Home Finery features crewel fabrics and will have coordinating solids, and even some wallpapers next season.

I’ve also been seeing embroideries in magazines lately.  Here are some pictures that show a more contemporary side of embroidery used by some very savvy designers.  Aren’t they fabulous?
